MediaTek has just launched four new tablet chips on the market – the MT8125, MT8135, MT8389 and MT8382 – which seem to have been successfully incorporated by tablet models of brand vendors and white-box vendors alike.

Thus, according to an industry estimate reported by DigiTimes, MediaTek is expected to see its shipments being doubled in 2014. More than that, the company will probably snatch up to 30% of the non-iPad tablet chip market.

Brand vendors have taken an interest in using MediaTek chips, with important names like Acer, Asustek Computer and Lenovo getting their supplies from this direction.

MediaTek has managed to take the spot light away from most white-box vendors by attracting brand vendors by its side, so as a result, its 15-20 million units projected for 2013, are going to be doubled in the year to come.
