Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be respectful towards Tier One Operators, the shadowy military men whose existences it dramatizes, and the entire development team working at developer Danger Close will try and make sure that it never tackles issues that are sensitive to them.

When asked about the mission which resulted in the death of Osama bin Laden, Greg Goodrich, the executive producer working on Warfighter, told the Official Xbox Magazine that, “That’s not our story to tell. That’s family business to the Tier 1 Operators.”

He added, “It’s been an interesting exercise learning what’s okay and what’s not okay.”

Medal of Honor has been rebooted by Danger Close, with help from the DICE studio, late in 2010.

One of the new series’ main selling points is that most of the game content is created using the real-world experience and the expertise of Tier One Operators, men who have fought the most dangerous battles for the United States military during the last few years.

The studio is using their actual stories to create in-game levels and to make sure that the weapons, vehicles and gameplay are representative of what Special Forces do in the real world.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter will focus on the character of Preacher, who returns home after a tour of duty to find out that a new and powerful threat hands over his country.

The game will allow gamers a glimpse into the family life of Tier One Operators, showing how they deal with families and with the stress of returning to the United States after their exploits overseas.

The game will be created using a heavily modified version of the Frostbite 2 engine.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be launched in October on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC.
