McAfee, the world renowned security solutions provider, revealed its agreement with Lenovo as a result of which the latter’s ThinkPad tablet will benefit from the protection offered by McAfee’s Mobile Security software.

The Android-based device comes preloaded with the security suit that encapsulates VirusScan Mobile, WaveSecure and SiteAdvisor, products which protect a mobile machine against theft, viruses, spyware, while also making sure that the user can safely surf the web.

By offering a 30-day trial of their product on the Android ThinkPad, McAfee hopes to extend their ongoing collaboration with Lenovo.

“The tremendous popularity of mobile devices and their subsequent adoption in the workplace means IT organizations must worry about data-compromising malware as well as the danger of lost and stolen devices,” said John Thode, executive vice president and general manager, consumer, small business and mobile, McAfee.

“As these devices store increasing amounts of personal and corporate data, they need to be secured to avoid potentially damaging data breaches, network intrusions or hacker attacks.”
