Most of the auto companies are aware that new projects have to focus on sustainability and green improvements to please a larger segment of clients.

Even though a 2018 deadline is still far away, Mazda is ready to reveal its ambitious goal. It seems that the enterprise will be ready to launch a new electric vehicle on the American market in less than 7 years.

This option will be developed to comply with California's zero-emissions standards, AutoGreenblog informs.

Since California is a populous state, it's obviously very important to come up with an eco-friendly car; otherwise, the company couldn't increase its profit margins by selling vehicles in this state, according to Mazda engineer Mitsuru Fujinaka.

While the company is eager to launch the American electric dream, its attention isn't limited to this distant goal.

Mazda plans to launch a new all-electric version of Demio in Japan, providing a range of up to 124 miles and reaching a top speed of up to 87 miles per hour.

Another advantage is that its battery is supposed to fully recharge in eight hours. Enough to keep the company busy seven years before trying to regain the American market.
