Video game publisher Take Two, via its Rockstar label, has announced that it is launching a Special Edition version of the upcoming shooter Max Payne 3 which will offer gamers both a collectible statuette of the main character and a pack of characters taken from the first two titles in the series.

The Special Edition can be bought for the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 and the PC and will only be available until January 15 of next year.

Those who are willing to pay the 100 dollars (74.1 Euro) price will get the following:

- a copy of Max Payne 3; - a 10 inch (25.4 centimeters) tall Max Payne statue made by TriForce, that has collectible value; - a series of stills that are designed to show the state of Max Payne's psyche and the demons who continue to haunt him; - a key chain made of copper and brass plated iron in the shape of a bullet, complete with a a screw-off back; - the Classic Multiplayer Character Pack, which contains eight new characters that can be used including Mona Sax and Vladimir Lem but also classic versions of the main hero; - a weapons pack called Disorderly Conduct that comes complete with the Hammerhead Auto Shotgun, the G9 Grenade Launcher and the Molotov cocktail; - the official soundtrack for Max Payne 3..

Max Payne 3 will be launched at some point during March 2012 as long as the publisher does not delay the game again, looking for more time to add polish.

The story will take the character away from New York, where he feels that his problems have proven to hard to face, and will take him to sunny Brazil, where again he is drawn into a situation where he needs to use force in order to do good in the world.

The developers have promised that signature elements like bullet time and acrobatic movement will be kept for Max Payne 3.
