Max Payne 3 has just received a brand new batch of screenshots, depicting some of the action that will take place in Rockstar's brand new title and the many faces of Max Payne, the hero of the popular series.

Rockstar officially announced Max Payne 3 many years ago, but, since then, we've only had a couple of screenshots and some scarce details about the game.

Now, in recent weeks, new information has surfaced, thanks to a cover story ran by Edge magazine.

We've heard a lot of new things about the title, including the fact that the game will chart important aspects in Max Payne's life, starting from the end of the second game, and up until he moves to Brazil and starts his own private security company.

Alongside the new details, we also got a chance to see some fresh pictures, depicting a Max Payne closer to the one we knew from first two titles.

Now, Kotaku has published a bunch of brand new screenshots, which depict the transformation of the main character, from his older experiences in New York to the new adventures he'll see in Sao Paolo, going from the athletic, NYPD detective we saw in the first games with a full head of hair, to the bald and more solid character we saw in the first screenshots of the game.

According to Rockstar, many of the classic Max Payne mechanics will appear in the third game, including the trademark bullet time slow motion effect or Max's signature rolls into cover, all now rendered with the company's RAGE engine, which allow for a high quality experience.

Sadly, Max Payne 3 still hasn't received a concrete release date, but fans of the series shouldn't be too optimistic of a release this year, as all signs point to a release in early 2012, especially since Rockstar and Team Bondi will be launching L.A. Noire next month.

Until a concrete launch date appears, feel free to check out the Max Payne 3 screenshots below.
