There is a rumor floating around that two of the biggest names in Hollywood, one a recent winner of the Academy Award for Best Actor, are planning a remake of one of the most beloved classic outlaw movies, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”

Life & Style is claiming it has the scoop from an insider that says, “Matt wants to turn a whole new generation of moviegoers into fans of the bandits.” McConaughey has his eyes firmly set on Woody Harrelson as his partner in crime, so that together to replace the original legendary duo of Robert Redford and Paul Newman.

So far as we can tell, McConaughey will play Robert Redford's part as the Sundance Kid, and Harrelson is taped to replace Paul Newman as Butch Cassidy. The source also claims that there is already a script being developed and that Matt is pinning big hopes on the project.

In fact, he's so excited about this remake, that he hopes Redford will take up his offer and agree to direct the movie. Meanwhile, if you want to see Woody and Matt sharing the screen together, just tune to HBO's hit series “True Detective” and catch a glimpse of their awesome chemistry.
