He stands to be serving six and a half years in jail

A man confessing to a killing in a viral video, has been sentenced to jail time. Matthew Cordle will be serving six and a half years in prison over the murder of a man during a night of drunk driving.

In the clip posted above, 22-year-old Cordle explains being able to get away with the crime. His conscience was the only one standing in between him and his freedom.

He speaks about wanting to take responsibility for the crime. As soon as the video went viral, he was detained and charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.

According to Cleve Scene, Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge David Fais, convicted Cordle and sentenced him on Wednesday. His lawyers insisted that he get a reduced sentence over his obvious remorse.
