Matrox Graphics, one of the world's leading vendors of specialized graphics cards for multiple display solutions, has just announced the introduction of its new M98188 PCIe x16 Octal graphics, providing customers with a choice for a card with support for up to eight DisplayPort or DVI Single-Link outputs. Featuring a PCIe x16 interface, the card has been equipped with 2GB of memory and comes with support for resolutions of up to 2560 x 1600. In addition, the cards sports advanced management features, enabling increased performance for customers using multiple display configurations.

“The M9188 is designed specifically for professional monitoring environments that require visualization of large amounts of data at once to enhance mission-critical decision making,” says Ron Berty, Business Development manager, Matrox Graphics. “The expansive multi-monitor configuration allows system operators to accurately manage energy grids or train dispatch applications, while ensuring maximum performance across all displays.”

Among the key features of the new card, the Montreal, Canada-based company has mentioned the use of the PCIe x16 interface, the single-slot design, the availability of both 1GB (M9128) or 2GB (M9188) models, support for up to two (M9128) or eight (M9188) DisplayPort monitors at 2560 x 1600 resolution, or DVI Single-Link monitors with support for 1920 x 1200 per display.

Moreover, the two models come with driver support for Windows 7, Vista, XP, Server and Linux operating systems and can be combined with other M-Series products, for a multi-card configuration. Another key feature is the support for stretched or independent desktop modes across all monitors.

According to the company, the M9128 and the M9188 are scheduled for availability in the fourth quarter of this year, accompanied by the unified driver package, for easier deployment and flexibility. Prices are set at US$259 and US$1995, respectively.
