The archipelago will soon feel the storm's full fury

The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument on the NASA Terra satellite managed to capture this amazing view of typhoon Nalgae heading towards the Philippines Archipelago.

The storm, known in the Pacific by the name Quiel, looks impressive in this image. According to weather experts, the storms carries high winds and significant rainfall, so people in its direct path should expect strong gusts and large floods to accompany it.

Quiel is apparently struggling to catch up with Nesat, another large typhoon that battered the area only a few days earlier. This natural-color image was taken by MODIS on Friday, September 30, 2011.

According to official sources, Nesat already killed 43 people, while an additional 30 are missing. If that is any indication as to what to expect from Nalgae, people in its path should take cover.
