The Lakers' old home got a $100 (€73.5) million renovation session and opened yesterday, showing off its coolest feature – a 407 feet (124 meters) wide massive replica of the famous Eagles record “Hotel California” on its roof that will be spinning throughout the end of January.

The L.A. Forum is one of America's historic sports venues, hosting the L.A. Lakers during one of their glorious periods, and was recently acquired by Madison Square Garden Company. In order to transform the building in a one-of-a-kind concert hall, they commissioned the replica to a well-known marketing company that promised to bring the building, dating back to 1968, into the spotlight again.

The renovation project was handled by famous New York marketing and promotion company, Pop2Life, that gave the Forum a unique and very attractive centerpiece. The former sports venue turned into first-rate concert location is stealing the spotlight from competitors with its spinning printed vinyl.

In order to create the gigantic “Hotel California” record roof, constructors had to mix together almost 25 tons of material, 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) of aluminum framework, 5,000 nuts and bolts, 5 acres (4,046 square meters) of printed vinyl and almost 15,000 LED lights, notes The Verge. The label portion of the record is also spinning at 17 mph.

The tribute paid to the famous singers sets a new record, for the biggest vinyl record ever put together. The band is inaugurating the new Forum with a series of amazing shows worthy to represent their incredible themed-roof, from January 15 to the 25. The tickets for the show have already been sold since December, with fans pilling up to get their hands on some of 2014's most awaited concerts.

Even if the design may be hard to spot by passersby, the passengers traveling from the nearby LAX airport will have the best view of the unique vinyl record roof. Almost 1,700 flights depart and land on L.A.'s airport each day and the music hall's top will be one incredible view.
