One of the leading developers working on Final Fantasy XIV, the MMO-based around the very popular Square Enix franchise, has announced that the game is set to receive a massive number of gameplay changes soon, as the team working on it tries to make it attractive to gamers again.

Naoki Yoshida, who is the producer working on the MMO, has posted the list of changes on the official forums and they aim to change the game from the tutorial phase, which has been tweaked to make it friendlier to gamers, to the user interface and the way combat and crafting works.

The full list of changes can be seen in this forum thread and the developers at Square Enix are encouraging players to jump in and give out their opinion about the game and how it can be improved.

Final Fantasy XIV will also be getting a number of all-new features, including new modes of getting around the game world, a job system designed to allow the players to customize their characters and a number of achievements.

One of the main aims of the team lead by Yoshida is to make sure that the MMO is never dull and an auto attack system will be introduced to the combat system as soon as possible to reward player effort.

It's not clear exactly when all the changes are made to Final Fantasy XIV.

The MMO was launched during the fall of last year on the PC and players quickly complained about its quality.

Square Enix announced that it was not charging PC gamers a monthly subscription until problems with the game were fixed and that the PlayStation 3 version of the game was postponed indefinitely.

The original producer of the game has resigned and now Square Enix promises that the game will realize its original vision during this year.

The publisher has posted a 149 million dollars loss for the last fiscal year in part because of the MMO troubles.
