Digital distribution service Steam has begun a brand new promotion, declaring the week between May 2 and May 9, EA Week, and offering massive discounts on a wide array of games from the popular publisher.

Valve is always hosting some sort of deal on its Steam service, with the most recent Potato Sack bundle of indie games helping Portal 2 be released earlier than planned through a special Alternate Reality Game.

Now, after a few more big discounts, Steam has revealed EA Week, a special week-long promotion that will see many titles from the big publisher receive massive discounts, with 25 to 50 or 75 percent off their regular prices.

Right now, Steam is cutting the prices on the Dragon Age franchise, with Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age: Origins Awakening and Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition seeing their prices cut in half, while the recently released Dragon Age 2 gets a 25 percent discount.

Prices are now at:

- Dragon Age: Origins - $14.99 or €14,99 - Dragon Age: Origins Awakening - $9.99 or €9,99 - Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition (includes Awakening and all DLC) - $14.99 or €14,99 - Dragon Age 2 - $44.99 or €37,49

Expect plenty of other massive discounts to be made for EA's other games that are currently available on Steam.

Judging by the company's catalog of impressive games, you might see during the EA week discounts made to the Crysis lineup (Crysis 1, Crysis: Warhead, Crysis 2), the Need for Speed range (NFS: Hot Pursuit, NFS: Shift 2: Unleashed) or its Dead Space one, with both the original and the second game being eligible for price cuts during this promotion.

Steam users should keep checking the service everyday in order to stay informed and see what titles are now on sale.

The EA Week on Steam lasts until Sunday, May 9.
