Mass Effect 3 won't see any large details about its story revealed before its release, at least according to a representative of its development studio, BioWare.

Mass Effect 3 is set to be one of the biggest games of 2011, completing the trilogy of titles made by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts.

The new game received its first big chunk of details about story and gameplay at the end of last week, which showed just how events from the Arrival DLC released for Mass Effect 2 will impact the beginning of the new title.

Now, BioWare's Jarret Lee has revealed these might be the last big details about its story that we'll see until its release.

According to a thread on NeoGAF, the developer confirmed on the BioWare forums that the story of Mass Effect 3 won't receive plenty of details, in order to keep spoilers from appearing on the web and ruining the first experience of gamers.

"I've seen the stuff in store for you guys in Mass Effect 3," Lee said. "Be excited, be very excited. Also, other than the attack on Earth, I think we'll try harder this time not to spoil things for you. By the time the game ships you'll be mad about the lack of story info."

BioWare will emphasize the overhauled gameplay and lots of other Mass Effect 3 feature instead of the story, because that is the most important aspect of the upcoming game.

"Thing is what makes Mass Effect awesome is the story - it's packed with major and minor plot points. Selling it as awesome only by talking about basic game features can be difficult - but we may see a move towards that this time. It seems though that if we don't say enough about story, people jump to negative conclusions quickly. At any time, we'll keep a lid on stuff."

The Mass Effect universe has been developed into all sorts of directions, with two games already released, and a third one incoming, while also being showcased through novels and comic books, not to mention an anime movie that will appear next year.
