Electronic Arts has revealed some more details ahead of Mass Effect 3’s launch, confirming that pre-orders have already surpassed those of its predecessor, as well as the company’s own estimates.

Mass Effect 3 is set to conclude the trilogy of games made by developer BioWare and published by EA. We’ve already heard a lot of details about the game, including plenty of screenshots depicting the role playing shooter, as well as its upcoming From Ashes DLC, alongside lots of videos and trailers that focused on all sorts of things.

Now, Electronic Arts has talked with MCV about the actual release and how Mass Effect 3 will be heavily promoted next week all over the world through all sorts of media campaigns.

"TV, cinema, online, print and outdoor activity will help capture the mainstream audience," said EA Product Manager Will Graham. "For the core Mass Effect fan, we've been building on the immersive nature of the game with a host of trailers, social media activity and fan site activation.”

Graham also talked about pre-orders for Mass Effect 3, revealing that the game has already overtaken its predecessors, while surpassing EA’s own projections.

A major role in this performance, however, is played by the fact that Mass Effect 3 is going to appear on all three platforms, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, at the same time, unlike its predecessors.

"Currently our pre-orders have broken the targets set, we are well ahead of where we were at the same point with Mass Effect 2 and we have all of the platforms aligned for launch, which is a first for the Mass Effect franchise," Graham added.

Mass Effect 1 first appeared on the Xbox 360 and then on the PC, while the second game was released for the two aforementioned platforms at the same time, and one year later for the PS3.

Mass Effect 3 will be out for all three platforms on March 6, in North America, and March 9, in Europe.
