Mass Effect 3, the upcoming role-playing third-person shooter from BioWare, will look great on all the platforms it will arrive on, including the PC, PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, according to the developer.

BioWare's Mass Effect series has indulged gamers around the world with its deep story and polished gameplay, even if PlayStation 3 owners were left a bit in the dark, as the first installment didn't appear on their platform, while the second arrived one year after the PC and Xbox 360 one.

Now, with the third game, BioWare pledged to release the title on all three platforms at the same time, and confirmed, via its marketing boss, David Silverman, that it's going to be a great experience no matter the device on which the game is played.

"This is the first time that all three platforms have shipped at the same time and it will be an amazing adventure whatever platform you play it on. I don't think you'll see a difference between the Xbox version and the PS3 version. There's no drop in quality on either," Silverman said to CVG.

Mass Effect 3 is the end of the trilogy of games that focused on Commander Shepard, with the protagonist facing off against a race of sentient alien ships called the Reapers, that want to destroy all life in the universe, including humanity.

"People tell us we're amazing storytellers and we hope we are. We know we can't give you all-out galactic war by cheaping out on the action. It needs to feel an epic war against insurmountable odds. That's what makes the story even more emotionally engaging."

Mass Effect 3 was scheduled to appear this year, but was delayed until March 6, 2012, so that BioWare can polish up the title and make sure it's a worthy end to the Mass Effect series.
