14 DAY TRIAL // BioWare has confirmed some more details about the From Ashes DLC for Mass Effect 3, which was recently leaked, saying that it will be completely free to those who bought the N7 Collector’s Edition or the Digital Deluxe versions of the game.
[admark=1]Mass Effect 3 is set to be released next month and the first add-on for the role playing shooter, called From Ashes, has already leaked before its release, thanks to an early listing on the Xbox Live online service.
Now, in order to clear things up for the millions of people that are now looking forward to Mass Effect 3, BioWare’s Michael Gamble has revealed some more details about the upcoming add-on.
Among the new pieces of information is the fact that From Ashes is free to those who get the N7 Collector’s Edition or the N7 Digital Deluxe one.
Check out some more details below, but be careful as minor spoilers are also included:
- “From Ashes” includes the Prothean squad mate, an adventure on Eden Prime, a new weapon, and an alternate appearance for every squad mate. Note that these alternate appearances are in addition to the ones already advertised in the CE.
- The Collector’s Edition has been advertised from the beginning as containing a bonus character/mission, but we were not at liberty to provide the details. The Prothean is optional content that is certainly designed to appeal to long-time fans, which is why he is part of the CE offering (the version many fans would be likely to purchase). Mass Effect 3 is a complete – and a huge game - right out of the box.
- The content in “From Ashes” was developed by a separate team (after the core game was finished) and not completed until well after the main game went into certification. From Ashes will be sold separately for those who got the standard edition of Mass Effect 3, although an exact price has yet to be revealed by the developer.
A more official announcement is scheduled to arrive later this week, so expect some more details to appear soon enough.
