Marvel is feeling very playful and confident these days. So aware is the movie studio that whatever it does it gets the most attention, that it’s doing what few other studios have dared to do before: it’s releasing an ad for a trailer almost 2 weeks before it comes out.

This is not a teaser that would precede the trailer, as it’s common practice these days: this is a 15-second TV ad that promotes the release of the trailer. In other words, if you expected to see any new footage, you are in for a disappointment because it includes none.

However, you know what they say: beggars can’t be choosers and we’re certainly not in a position to get Marvel to see that this kind of releases can be more infuriating than teasing.

The first trailer for “Age of Ultron” leaked online days before the scheduled release, so maybe this is the studio’s way of keeping fans on their toes this time, seeing how it didn’t work out so well the first time around.

On the bright side, at least we have a date for the new trailer: January 12. We already know from interviews and the previously released footage that, in this installment, the Avengers will be facing the biggest threat ever, that of Ultron and his army.

Footage shown at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 teased a scene with the Avengers lying apparently lifeless in a setting of complete destruction, so unless this happens in some parallel universe, it looks like they’re really in for the battle of their life.

In case you missed the first trailer, you will find it embedded below, under the ad for the second one. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” will be out in theaters in May.
