Marvel Heroes, the free-to-play action role-playing game based in the Marvel Comics Universe, celebrates one year since its initial release with the launch of Marvel Heroes 2015, a massive content expansion.

The launch of Marvel Heroes 2015 adds a ton of new content, in the form of a brand-new end-game raid for up to 10 players, an alternate, infinite advancement system, and new server-wide shared daily quests.

The new Battle of Muspelheim Raid is the conclusion of the Asgard content, the first epic raid in the Marvel Heroes video game. The instance will let 10 players venture deep into the fiery abyss of Surtur's lair and fight against wave after wave of enemies, culminating in a final boss battle against Surtur, the archenemy of Odin and Thor.

Over the past year, developer Gazillion Entertainment has constantly tweaked the Marvel Heroes experience, adding new stuff and balancing the old, listening to the community's feedback and striving to provide a better and better experience.

As such, every month, Gazillion plans to unveil new heroes, costumes, game modes and other improvements. Over the month of June, players will see account-wide and hero-specific achievements, login rewards that will reward dedicated players, and a new playable superhero, the Silver Surfer, added to Marvel Heroes.

Although the game was met with criticism when it was launched last year, Gazillion has shown its commitment to improving the entire package, and the redubbed Marvel Heroes 2015 shows how far the team has come and how far they intend to go still.

In just one year, the game has expanded at a pace that surpasses every other iterative release on the planet, and not just in the video games world, proving the developer's potential to exceed all expectations.

Since launch, the roster of playable heroes has expanded to as many as 34 superheroes, including fan favorites from the Marvel Universe, such as Psylocke, the Human Torch, Gambit, Loki, Doctor Strange, Nightcrawler, and Ghost Rider.

Player feedback has been taken into account and is now reflected in the many changes and additions made to the game, from the alternate advancement Omega System to raid, PvP, a greatly revised store and improved starting lineup, and a bunch of others.

"The Marvel Universe is constantly growing and Marvel Heroes has grown right along with it. Marvel Heroes 2015 embodies what fans and players love about our comics and games. It's exciting to see what Marvel Heroes 2015 will do next," says T.Q. Jefferson, Marvel Entertainment's vice president of production for games.

The Marvel Heroes 2015 Anniversary event will end with a huge surprise for all players involved, so stay tuned for the official announcement to come.
