Human-sized version won’t be out until January 6

Marvel is getting too cute for its own sake. Since not even movie trailers are what they were once, and today we have to have teasers for teasers of trailers, and then even more trailers until we finally get to see the actual thing (and we probably realize it is nothing like what we were led to believe it would be), the studio just managed to up the teasing game by a lot.

And probably step on the toes of millions of fans, who really thought they’d be getting a “real” teaser.

Marvel launched the first teaser for its second most anticipated release of the year, “Ant-Man” with Paul Rudd, but it’s not what the world expected: it is actually an “ant-sized” version of the “human-sized” one that will premiere on January 6.

You can see the official version below. The second video is expanded to the size of an actual video, but it’s just as revealing as the original – which is to say you can’t really make anything of it, except that it has people doing stuff and perhaps a vast expanse of water as well.

Clearly, Marvel is looking to up its trolling game as well, but no matter how frustrating this is (and I imagine it is considerably so, especially for those really itching to have their first look at the film, loyal fans of the character), you have to admit that, as far as teasing goes, this is very, very efficient.

“Ant-Man” will get a proper teaser on January 6, and a wide release in July.
