Geoffrey Greif and Kathleen Holtz Deal recently released a new book, called “Two Plus Two: Couples and Their Couple Friendships.” In it, they describe how being friends with other married couples can help people who are already married overcome the obstacles in their path with greater ease.

What the book does is that it essentially highlights the stories of about 300 couples and individuals, some of which are married, and some of which are divorced. What was interesting for the authors to discover was that there were several ways for friendships among couples to form, PsychCentral reports.

The most common was when one person from each of the two couples were friends. Researchers say that the friendship can then literally extend to all four individuals, LiveScience reports. Naturally, the same thing can happen between more than two couples.

I personally believe that this can help some of those who are otherwise having problems see a model in how others deal with the same problems. At the same time, there are some things that guys can only talk about with other guys, and the same things goes for the ladies as well.
