Marketcircle has released Daylite 3.9.2, an update to its business productivity manager designed to help users manage their business and their team. More than just a CRM, Daylite can be used to manage a company’s projects, sales, contacts, tasks, appointments, meetings, notes, and emails. The latest version is a free upgrade for existing (and trial) users.

“We’ve released Daylite 3.9.2, which includes some important improvements,” Alykhan Jetha, Marketcircle CEO, says on the company's blog. Those improvements include the following, according to AJ:

– Improved connection handling for shared databases; – Improved offline synchronization to better handle certain edge cases; – Improved offline synchronization reminder to no longer block DMI when it is up.

“We tweaked the connection protocol to be more robust, so you’ll need to make sure that all computers are running 3.9.2 (including your offlines),” AJ further explains. “If you use Daylite Delivery, you’ll need version 1.6, which we also released today to accommodate the protocol change,” Marketcircle's CEO reveals. Download links for both Daylite 3.9.2 and Daylite Delivery are available at the bottom of this piece. As noted above, Daylite version 3.9.2 is a free update for existing users, as well as for those still using the trial version of the software.

AJ also posts a few important notes, in light of the 3.9.2 update, saying, “This release changes the communication protocol a bit. As such, all computers need to be on Daylite 3.9.2.” Also, those upgrading from 3.8 and below should do themselves a favor and check with the migration guide, AJ advises. This is due to the fact that the database engine has changed in 3.9, the changelog points out. Lastly, offline users upgrading from 3.9 or 3.9.1 will not need to sync or recreate offline databases prior to upgrading, but they will have to upgrade Daylite on every computer they use it with.

Before you head over to the download page, skim through the main enhancements brought by version 3.9.2 (including Daylite Server Admin and Daylite Server).

Daylite

▪ If a connection fails, Daylite detects whether the server has moved to a different address or name on the network over Bonjour. ▪ The general sample database has been updated with more sample information. ▪ Improved how online connection information is maintained and recovered for offline databases. ▪ Better handling of lost connection when attempting to go offline. ▪ Improved the returned results when searching in Daylite Help.

Daylite Server Admin

▪ Update the list of databases to be backed up automatically when a database is renamed.

Daylite Server

▪ Improved logging of server operations to provide more concise information.

Marketcircle also has a certain Daylite Touch selling in the App Store. The app is a business productivity manager developed by Marketcircle for the iPhone and iPod touch, and is designed to be a companion for the desktop (Mac) version of Daylite.
