A photo snapped during a marathon in Charlevoix, Michigan has risen to viral fame after being posted online.

It was captured at the end of the Jeff Drench Memorial 5K, a part of the Venetian Festival in Charlevoix, Huffington Post notes. It depicts Lance Cpl. Myles Kerr slowing down and letting the boy get before him in the race.

Kerr ended up finishing last in the race in his age category, and he was acknowledged on Facebook. The photo was posted on Facebook page of the Seals Of Honor group.

He was running with his fellow Marines, who noticed that he was moving unusually slow and came back to help him.

“The parents of the little boy I ran with gave me $100 (€75) gift card to Grey Gables Restaurant #godbless,” the Marine tweeted about the moment afterwards.
