Lee Harvey Oswald's wedding ring has been put up for auction by his wife, Marina Oswald. It will be sold by Boston's RR Auction House.

Bidding will be done online, and the auction has started at $2,500 (€1,800). However, as of Tuesday, the highest bid was already $32,500 (€32,500).

The auction comes about a month before the anniversary of John F. Kennedy's assassination. The auction house is selling off about 300 Kennedy memorabilia items.

Oswald's ring was originally worn after he wed Russian bride Marina Prusakova and it was bought in Minsk. A hammer and sickle are engraved on the golden band.

NY Daily News reported that it was left on the dresser on November 22, 1963, before the day of the President's death. Marina was not staying with him at the time, as they were separated.
