Shock rocker Marilyn Manson has never had a loving, understanding or even tolerating relationship with the media. Except for specialized publications that gave him credit for his music, tabloids and glossy magazines always made a habit either of mocking him or of deliberately thrashing him. Precisely because of this, Manson has taken to his MySpace page to issue a warning to all those who would write stories on him in the future.

While it’s not clear what got the rocker so upset, since mentioning the cause for his outburst seems to have completely slipped his mind, the rocker does state out loud that the punishment for talking trash on him is death – in more or less words. Haters and so-called “journalists” who make a living out of rubbishing his reputation and then hide behind their liberty of speech constitutional right would better watch their back next time they do so, Manson writes.

“Soon to be buried in a shallow grave. Current mood: amused. I can, but do not need to defend myself And the absurd accusations that the average press has clinged [sic.] onto. If we need a nude photo of me to prove that I am far different than the soon-to-be-murdered-in-their-home press has decided to fabricate, that is easy. But if one more ‘journalist’ makes a cavalier statement about me and my band, I will personally or with my fans’ help, greet them at their home and discover just how much they believe in their freedom of speech. I dare you all to write one more thing that you won’t say to my face. Because I will make you say it. In that manner. That is a threat. Mm.” the rocker says on MySpace.

Fans of Manson must already know that he tends to take issues circulated in the media on him to heart, as they say. The fact that he’s unhappy, to put it mildly, about the way he’s being treated in the press is, again, well known, as he has repeatedly spoken out on the injustice that is constantly being done to him. Just like it happened in the aftermath of the Columbine massacre, when the entire mass media jumped at him for being responsible for the killings and, in doing so, killed his career, Manson said in an older interview.

“Blaming me for [Columbine] was ridiculous. It’s a lack of responsibility from everyone. If you want to blame something, well, I went to a Christian school. That’s why I write what I write. Shall we blame the Christians? I essentially lost everything because of Columbine but, if it happened now, it just wouldn’t have the same impact. There has to be that first person who takes the arrows in the back and I guess that was me. If there was a Grammy Award for death toll, it would be mine. I don’t think anyone has been blamed for as much violence as me.” Manson was saying last month.
