Aside from his music, other things that make Marilyn Manson recognizable are his love for heavy makeup, for platform boots and leather, androgynous-style clothes. None of that is seen in the latest photo of the rocker.

Though it may come as a shock to his fans, as of late, Marilyn has taken to wearing no makeup at all and sporting a mullet, while dressed in what looks like a basketball player’s uniform.

As Interview magazine writes in a recent issue, there’s even proof of such Manson-unlike behavior, as David Gordon Green has kindly provided the publication with a photo.

In it, the rocker is seen with baseball cap and uniform, proudly looking into the camera as he’s showing off his makeup-free face and mullet. If anything, he’s only recognizable for his tattoos and to those who’ve seen him without makeup before.

It’s no accident that Manson has chosen this particular outfit either, Green says, for the rocker is a fan of HBO’s series “Eastbound & Down” and especially of main character Kenny Powers (Danny McBride), whom he’s emulating here.

“Yeah, Marilyn Manson, he’s [expletive]-ing obsessed with the show. He goes so far as to dress up like Kenny,” Green reveals.

Apparently, Manson is so obsessed with the show and the character he would even go out on the street dressed like Kenny, trying to see how people react to him.

He’s hilarious in doing so, the Interview piece goes on to say.

Perhaps not accidentally, the photo and the above revelation also come with some tidbits about Manson’s upcoming movie, which Green is producing.

“Splatter Sisters” also co-stars Manson’s fiancée Rachel Evan Wood and will try and recapture the feel of early soft-core slashers, as once shown on Cinemax.

“His character is named Lars, the leader of a death metal band. He places two beautiful, young drifter girls under mind control to commit heinous acts of murder across the West Coast,” director Adam Bhala Lough says of the film.

“All of the slaying is for a bizarre ‘art project’ VHS tape. I’m trying to capture the look and feel of the best ‘Skinemax’ flicks from my childhood,” Lough further explains.

“Manson says he’s going to holler at Elizabeth Berkley,” the director says, when asked if the rocker is considering of having any actress from back then make a cameo in the new slasher.

“Splatter Sisters” comes out next year. As of now, Interview has not been able to find out whether Manson plans on keeping the mullet for the part.
