14 DAY TRIAL // All is not well in the blissful marriage of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, one of the weirdest couple in show-business today, in the sense that no one thought the two of them were right for each other, let alone last six years in a marriage together.
Page Six reports that the couple are on the rocks, after Cannon has been getting involved in affairs with other women while Mariah has stayed back home. His flirting and philandering has gotten so bad, that insiders say Mariah resorted to hiring a security team to keep him away from other women. Obviously, that hasn't worked out.
Now, insiders are claiming that Nick, who has been the host of the reality series America's Got Talent, are close to getting a separation after six years of marriage. “He hasn't been staying at their home,” says one insider, explaining that “he's been living out of hotels. They're fighting a lot.”
The main reason for their troubles is the fact that Cannon can't seem to stay away from other women. The sources close to the couple recount how Carey has been jealous for a long time and when Cannon was hosting parties in Las Vegas this year, she hired a security guard to make sure that he was keeping his nose clean.
“The security guard wasn’t there to keep the girls away from him. It was to keep him away from the girls,” explains the insider, in regard to the security officer dispatched by Mariah. It turns out that Carey knew a thing or two about her husband and sent additional help in Vegas because “[Cannon] gets into trouble when he drinks.”
Proof that their marriage is on the rocks is the fact that the two haven't been seen together in public for months, nor have they been photographed as spending time together, despite the fact that they have 2 children together, twins Moroccan and Monroe, which they have affectionately dubbed “dem babies.”
This isn't the first time the couple is generating divorce rumors, many in the press thought they were weren't going to last as long as they did in the first place, given their 12-year age gap (Mariah is 45 and Nick is 33).
Earlier this week, it was speculated that the couple was getting ready to announce their divorce as Cannon had been living away from Mariah, at his grandparents' house in a sort of trial separation. We should also point out that the couple's mansion was put up for sale back in July, again pointing to a separation.
