No stranger to getting paid exorbitant amounts of money for her talent, Mariah Carey has reportedly set another record this New Year’s Eve. According to several media outlets, the songbird rang in the new year by cashing in a whopping $1 million for a performance consisting of just four tracks.

“The 38-year-old singer reportedly received the staggering sum from Libyan dictator Colonal Gaddafi's son Saif son after agreeing to perform at the Nikki Beach Club on the Caribbean island of St Barts.” ChinaDaily reports. Various accounts in the media have it that the singer was there in the company of her husband, Nick Cannon, as well as that of other A-list celebrities as herself.

Jay Z reportedly also performed (although how much he was paid is still unknown) with hit producer/performer Timbaland, right before ringing in the new year next to wife Beyonce Knowles, known as of late under the stage name of Sasha Fierce. Other guests at the fancy party included Bond star Daniel Craig, in attendance with fiancée Satsuki Mitchell, and funnyman Eddie Murphy.

As for the pregnancy rumors the entire media was talking about a few days ago, it seems that Mariah laid those to rest as well, as she spent almost the entire night enjoying champagne with the other celebrities. For those still a bit unfamiliar with the “ways of the gossip,” the pregnancy rumor was first ignited when Mariah was spotted outside a doctor’s office, reportedly holding what looked like a sonogram.

After that, PageSix ran a story according to which close friends of the star had revealed that she was, indeed, pregnant. As argument, they brought the fact that she had already begun to cut down on her rigorous workout regime to accommodate the “new arrival.” If the ChinaDaily report on the $1 million gig is accurate, then so might be that on Mariah drinking champagne which, in turn, would make the previous rumor false.
