Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were married after only a brief courtship but proving that this is of little importance where true love is concerned, they still hold the secret for a happy marriage – or so they claim.

The famous duo are featured on the cover of the February 2014 issue of Ebony magazine, and since this is self-titled ultimate diva Mimi we’re talking about, the pic is all sorts of ridiculous fabulousness. You can also see it attached to this article.

Dressed in matching red outfits (after all, for Mariah, it’s probably still Christmas), the two are in full glamor mode even though they’re standing in the pool, submerged in water to their waistline. The singer even has her trademark high heels on, and a full face of makeup and her hair done.

In the accompanying interview, Nick reveals that it’s spirituality that keeps their marriage strong.

“It was early on when I found out how spiritual she was, and we had conversations about kids and how to live life. For her to share these values, it instantly let me know this is the person I’ve always wanted,” he says.

Meanwhile, Mariah opens up about their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, aka Dem Babies, aka Rocco and Ms. Monroe, gushing that the little girl takes after her in her love of fashion and exquisite jewelry.

Also on the topic of kids, Nick says that he wouldn’t want them to go for a career in showbiz, having already experienced firsthand the pitfalls of fame. As they say, not all that glitters is gold, and Nick knows this to be true of celebrity life as well.

“Me personally, I wouldn’t put my kids on television. But to each his own. Most aspiring child actors or child stars have a passion for it. But as easy as it is for me to say that I wouldn't put my kids in it, if I saw that they really really wanted to do and they had the drive, then I would fully support it. As long as there’s balance at home, then they could do whatever they wanted to do,” he explains.
