Report says Mariah Carey is to tour the US in support of “Memoirs” album

Now that her most recent album, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” is out, Mariah Carey is getting ready to personally bring it live to fans in the USA, reports coming in are saying. The singer will launch a domestic tour in 2010, with plans to take it abroad as well, granted everything goes according to plan, The Prophet Blog has learned from well-placed sources.

As of now, nothing is official, and the few details that are making the rounds are based on nothing more than just pure speculation. However, the aforementioned music-oriented e-zine claims that, as we speak, Mariah is seeing to the final details of what will turn out to be a full-fledged US tour. Whether she would expand the Angels Cry tour, as it will be officially called, beyond the US borders is yet to be determined.

“Mariah Carey is planning to hit the road next year for the official ‘Angels Cry’ tour. Named after the ballad from her new album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” the Angels Cry tour will see the diva performing hits from her new album as well as her extensive back catalogue. The first official show of the tour will be Mariah’s special New Years Eve concert at Madison Square Garden, which features Trey Songz,” the original report says.

“As of now the tour will remain in the States, but Mimi is looking into international dates with possibilities of extending it to a world tour, though nothing has been 100% confirmed yet. The opening act has been confirmed as RydazNrtist, a new R&B group signed to Nick Cannons NCredible Entertainment. They recently released their first single ‘Sorry A[expletive] Apology’ which is currently being played on MTV,” the same report further reveals.

On the other side, skeptics are saying that calling a few dates a full-fledged official tour is a bit of a stretch, especially since “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel” is Mariah’s worst selling album to date, being considered a disappointment because of this. Going on tour at this point would mean being ok with the idea of performing to half-empty venues, something that Mariah Carey would certainly have serious trouble getting accustomed to. However, only time will tell whether the above report is entirely accurate so keep an eye on this space for confirmation.
