Mariah Carey puts Nicki Minaj on blast again, says American Idol was an unpleasant experience

Always count on Mariah Carey to speak her mind: the diva was on The Breakfast Club the other day to promote her latest single, “You’re Mine (Eternal)” and, when the topic of her experience on American Idol came up, she slammed former fellow judge Nicki Minaj.

Below is the video of the interview. The American Idol and Nicki topic comes up right at the start, after Mariah is done fussing over the lights and gushing over the exquisiteness of her chocolate and champagne treat.

“I was a professional on that show, and that's all I have to say. I was a complete professional,” the singer says. When one of the hosts tells her that “Nicki was late though,” implying that the rapper wasn’t a professional, Mariah’s response is absolutely to die for.

“Who? I don't even remember what that was. That was a moment in my life that I'm just going to press delete,” she says.

Mimi goes on to explain that, when she signed up for Idol, she thought she would be on a different kind of show than how it ended up being. She also reveals she had Prince’s blessing to do it, and says that her paycheck for just one season was bigger than $12 million (€8.7 million).
