Extra caught up with the singer recently and, of all the things, asked her whether she had heard about Britney Spears signing on as judge.
“You think I focus on that stuff? Have we met?” Mariah asks, terribly amused.
“I love her, honestly, I think she's a very nice person, but I don't care who's going on that show – as long as it's not me,” she adds.
Word online has it that she totally “dissed” both Britney and X Factor by trying to downplay the importance of the latter.
We incline to believe she was rather flustered because she was asked about something she had nothing to do with, even though she was officially in talks with Cowell for the job Spears got on two separate occasions.
