While there’s no official word yet on whether Maria Shriver will divorce Arnold Schwarzenegger after the recent cheating / love child scandal, if she does decide on going ahead with it, she could away from the marriage $100 million richer.

Earlier reports had it that she could get about $200 million in the divorce settlement, but divorce attorneys (who haven’t worked and are no acquainted with the now-separated couple) are now saying a more accurate amount would be half of that.

With Arnold’s estate estimated at $300 million, Maria is definitely entitled to a share of the money, even if they have a prenup.

The fact that they’ve been married for so long (25 years) and that she gave up her career to be by his side will weigh heavily in the balance with a divorce judge, legal experts say, as cited by Hollywood Life.

“Maria Shriver is certainly entitled to a generous amount in the settlement, one that is consistent with her lifestyle. If Arnold’s net worth is $300,000 million she should get half of that plus child support,” one such expert states.

However, that would mean Maria would get upwards of $150 million, which is not entirely accurate, since part of Arnold’s estate was made before he got married to her, which means she will have no right over it.

“If Arnold is worth $300 million, than Maria is likely to get $100 million. One third of that was probably money Arnold earned before he got married. So she would get half of $200 million because in the state of California it’s 50/50,” another divorce attorney states.

While tabs and celebrity glossies are having a field day with speculation on how much Maria will (or will not) get, other reports cited by PopEater suggest that Arnold has still not given up on the idea of a reconciliation and that he still hopes to win her back again, despite everything.

“He knows he has made terrible mistakes in his past but isn’t prepared to lose the greatest woman in his life,” a source close to the former Governor says for the e-zine.

“This has nothing to do with money or the children, he misses her terribly and will do whatever it takes to win her back. Even begging,” adds the spy.
