Shortly after having announced the ninth update of Manjaro Linux 0.8.12, the Manjaro Linux development team informed its dedicated users about the immediate availability for download and testing of Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 RC1.

According to the release notes, Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 Release Candidate 1 (RC1) is powered by Linux kernel 3.18 and ships with the latest KDE Plasma 5.3.0 desktop environment, as well as the KDE Applications 15.04 software suite and KDE Frameworks 5.9.0. The KDE Breeze theme has been forked by the Manjaro Art Team and modified in such a way that it follows the same artwork style that Manjaro users are used to.

"This release comes with XFCE 4.12, KDE Plasma 5.3.0, linux318 kernel and all the usual Manjaro and upstream updates," says Philip Müller on behalf of the Manjaro Linux development team. "Stable branch was used to create these install medias. Please give us feedback and report any issues with this release."

Both the graphical and CLI installers have received improvements

In addition to the new features mentioned above, the first Release Candidate version of the forthcoming Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 distribution brings a significantly improved Thus graphical installer, which includes so many new features, bug fixes, and enhancements that it will be impossible for us to list them all in this article.

On the other hand, the CLI (Command-line interface) installer has received some new features as well, such as adoption of the latest syslinux changes, an option for X11 keyboard configuration, a working Pacman configuration, and adoption of the vmlinuz/initramfs renaming.

You can download Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 RC1 Xfce and Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 RC1 KDE right now from Softpedia, but keep in mind that this is a pre-release version that might contain unresolved issues. As such, we do not recommend installing and using an RC release on a stable working environment.
