Those who've watched the evolution of Manhunt 2 since it was first rated by boards such as the BBFC, ESRB and PEGI, probably lost all hope of seeing a typical Rockstar violent title hitting their systems. Well, as it turns out, the developer has confirmed the game's presence on North American retailers' shelves for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Nintendo Wii.

If you can remember, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has banned the sadistic game not once, but twice in its revamping process. RockStar said they'd rather not change the game's code much even if that meant that Europeans weren't getting it on consoles. As for the Americans, the ESRB said it would be alright for the game to hit home entertainment systems and that's why you can go over to the store and get it for your personal collection.

Just keep in mind that if you're not "Mature," you really shouldn't play this game 'cause it will probably give you the idea that it's all right to act funny. Really, no joke: don't play unless you're over 17! S**t has happened and it wouldn't be nice to happen again.

"Manhunt 2 has gone through much to reach this day," said Sam Houser, Founder and Executive Producer of Rockstar Games. "We are very excited that fans will finally get a chance to experience the magnificent horror experience we've crafted with Manhunt 2." Rockstar Games says that Manhunt 2 is a dark and disturbing psychological story revolving around the sinister events of a secretive research project called The Pickman Project. In this game, players will be plunged into the depths of human psychosis, terror and paranoia, with a twisted plot and brutal gameplay for the most atmospheric gaming experience ever.

Remember: Manhunt 2 has been released for PS2, PSP and Wii, being rated "M" for Mature by the ESRB. Here's the game's official website for more information.
