While attending a wedding at Citizen Hotel in Sacramento, California, one of the guests had a little too much to drink and decided to go home with a souvenir, an attractive portrait of a provocative woman hanged in one of the hotel's restrooms.

The pricey portrait featured a beautiful blonde, undressed woman sitting on a cigar, and was positioned in the gentleman's restroom. The big amount of alcohol he consumed made him believe the picture would look even better on his wall and decided to take it home.

The drunk man was caught on tape and the manager, Barent Larkin, tracked him down to recover the stolen item. After some searches on Google and LinkedIn, Larking found the man and gave him a call, “He sounded legitimately upset about what he did, it was a drunken mistake, one he wished he could take back,” the manager said according to CBS Sacramento.

The police officers recovered the item and, as a condition not to get arrested, the man was ordered to write an official apology note. Larkin took the well-known elementary school punishment and made the man sit down with a pen and paper and write several times “I will not get drunk at a wedding and go steal the naked picture of a woman on a cigar above the urinal in the Citizen Hotel.”

The man may have learned his lesson and his letter of apology will be used as warning for other visitors who might have a similar idea. The portrait will be rehanged on the wall and the drunk thief's letter will be placed just next to it to serve as a reminder.

The pricey picture of the attractive woman on a cigar was kind of famous even before it was stolen, as it caught the attention of many drunk men, but until this particular wedding guest no one actually tried stealing it from the hotel's toilet. Luckily, for the repented thief, the manager had a sense of humor and didn't press charges.
