The size of a public phone box, it's the biggest out there, barring house builders

There are many 3D printers on the market now, from big to small and from expensive to cheap, but very few of them manage to tower over all their peers. The one made by Chinese company Qingdao Unique Products Develop Co. might just be the biggest ever though.

Well, technically it's not the biggest ever, since those 3D printers that can build houses out of concrete in 24 hours are a lot taller. Still, as far as “normal” 3D printers go, Qingdao's new invention is very large indeed.

Standing at 2 meters in height (6.56 feet), it can print wax models of most human beings, in a ratio of 1:1 which, in laymen terms, means that you'll get a full-sized wax statue of yourself.

The printer will be sold under the Anyprint brand, but nothing else is known about it, except what can be gleamed from the picture above.

Essentially, the Chinese 3D printer is about the size of a telephone box, but without the transparent panels. In theory, it should be able to make wax figures the same quality as those displayed in the Madame Tussauds museum of celebrities, only they won't take months to make.

One does have to wonder how the statues will stand up without the internal metal/plastic supports, though. Since nothing has been said about the printer's specs or other traits, we can only guess.
