Erick Klemetti says it is possible to run on lava, advises people not to try doing so

A mind-boggling video showing a man running on lava has been bouncing back and forth on the web for some time now.

Geoscientist Erik Klemetti got the chance to analyze this footage, and has agreed to let us in on how it was that the man featured in the video succeeded in his endeavor.

In a blogpost, the geoscientist explained that, first off, boiling lava tends to form a crust the moment it is exposed to cool air.

Dancing on this crust is out of the question, but standing on it for a slip second is perfectly OK, seeing how the crust doesn't break all that easily, Daily Mail explains.

Erik Klemetti also pointed out the fact that, though it might flow much like a run-off-the-mill stream of water does, lava has a higher density, which allows it to withstand some pressure before engulfing the object sitting on top of it.

Laws of physics and lava behavior aside, the geoscientist urges people not to attempt recreating this stunt.
