A man by the name Zack Danger Brown, who lives in the city of Columbus in Ohio, US, has until now raised well over $8,300 (€6,104) to make a run-off-the-mill potato salad.

By the looks of it, it was only a few days ago that the man launched a mock campaign on Kickstarter looking to get just $10 (€7.35), which he promised to spend on making the dish.

“I'm making potato salad,” the campaign's description reads. Furthermore, “Basically I'm just making potato salad. I haven't decided what kind yet.”

The campaign has since gone viral, and Zack Danger Brown can now take pride in having raised way more money than he ever planned or expected to.

What's more, his fund raising campaign on Kickstarter is scheduled to run for another 26 days, which can only mean that, all things considered, this potato salad enthusiast will end up making even more money.

Having raised this much money, Zack Danger Brown says that he is planning to rent a party hall, and have all the backers who have pledged at least $10 come taste his potato salad.

“My kitchen is too small! I will rent out a party hall and invite the whole Internet to the potato salad party (only $10 and above will be allowed in the kitchen)!” he writes on Kickstarter.

Still, he stresses that, seeing how he has never before made this dish, chances are not everybody will be taken aback by his cooking skills.

Then again, something tells me folks won't be as much interested in having their taste buds delighted as they will be in simply taking part in the event.
