21-year-old Quazi Nafis, from Bangladesh, planted a 1,000lb car bomb, yesterday, near the New York Federal Reserve. He was arrested and is now in police custody.

The suspect was studying cyber security in NYC, and caught the authorities' attention when he posted on his Google+ account that he was going to “take down America,” CBS reports.

An undercover FBI agent approached him and learned that he was acting on behalf of terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. As the agent got close to the man, he was asked to supply 1,000lb of explosives and delivered him fake ones, thus managing to avoid disaster.

The FBI member then watched the man rig a car in front of the bank, and waited until the man filmed himself saying “We will not stop until we attain victory or martyrdom.”

Officers identified Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis's next target as a high-ranking official, who sources believe would have been president Obama.
