A daredevil has created a homemade jetpack and flown it at 12,000 feet (3,657m). Yves "Jetman" Rossy is making history for his life-affirming and terrifying jump out of a helicopter and over a mountain.

He has ventured off above Japan and crossed Mount Fuji while airborne. Rossy is a stuntman from Switzerland and he is the first to try flying at such heights in a jetpack in Asia.

He was traveling at 190mph (306kmph) and used a throttle to steer the flying wings. The suit has already taken him over the English Channel, the Swiss Alps, and the Grand Canyon, the Telegraph writes.

He aims to send people all over the world the message that they should "hold on to their dreams." He flew around the mountain nine times, all in the course of the 13 minutes of flight that the jet engine can sustain.
