A free cash spewing ATM is more of a fantasy, but for a few lucky Mansfield Woodhouse locals it was a dream come true as they flocked in front of the malfunctioning machine to get their hands on some unexpected free withdrawals.

The Lloyds Bank ATM from Noots, Mansfield Woodhouse malfunctioned and started releasing free notes to customers withdrawing cash on Tuesday morning. When the word of mouth concerning the incredible ATM spread around town, people flocked in front of it in an attempt to take advantage of the machine's error.

Around 60 people reportedly queued up in front of the Lloyds bank machine waiting for their fair share of the happening, reports The Belfast Telegraph. The bank's management noticed the error in the afternoon, around 3 pm and gave customers plenty of time to enjoy the free notes spewing.

Officials and back staff are investigating the causes that led to the malfunctioning of the machine and how this error occurred. Also, the lucky few who cashed out amounts during the incident will not be pursued by the bank or forced to reimburse the amounts. Lloyds Bank wasn't able to provide any details about the amount of money retracted from the machine during its error period.

“We're aware that an error occurred with a Lloyds Bank ATM in Mansfield Woodhouse, resulting in the ATM distributing incorrect amounts of cash. The ATM is now out of service and the error is being investigated,” the spokesman said according to the same source.

For the dozens of people who heard the rumor and queued for the free money, this came as a great news and the fact that the bank will not make them reimburse the amount was even better. Most people may have believed it to be a hoax, but the lucky one who actually went to see if the word-of-mouth was true they had quite the surprise.
