Report claims Casey Anthony is in talks with major networks for her first interview since the trial

Now that she’s been acquitted of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Casey Anthony is ready to speak and have her side of the story out there, for the entire world to listen to it. Her attorney is reportedly in deep negotiations for her first televised interview.

That Anthony would capitalize on the infamous trial was to be expected, industry insiders point out. After all, she has serious expenses to pay and it’s one of the few alternatives she has at her disposal.

TMZ reports that Anthony’s lawyer is already negotiating with all the major networks for her first interview – and it claims very big money is at stake.

In other words, networks are locked in a bidding war to be the first to secure some alone time with Anthony.

“Sources tell TMZ, NBC, ABC and CBS are all competing for the first interview. Sources connected with the negotiations tell TMZ there is a ‘big price tag’ for the interview,” the e-zine says.

“We’re told the networks – which say they don’t pay for interviews – are offering to license photos and other material and pay big bucks... that’s S.O.P. in the network game,” TMZ further reports.

As per the same inside sources, who claim to be well familiar with the negotiations, NBC is currently a favorite, with ABC as the runnerup and CBS as “a distant third.”

Admittedly, NBC is forking up the big bucks to pay for the attorney’s hotel room, so chances are good there’s already a pre-agreement in place.

“Baez spent part of the night Thursday in the Mandarin Oriental bar with famed lawyer Mark Geragos – who knows a thing or two about high-profile cases. We’re told Geragos gave Baez pointers on negotiating the deal,” TMZ further says.

None of the networks above has denied reports of the deal – mostly because they’re not in the habit of taking an official stand on ongoing negotiations, be they only rumored or not – but inside sources are telling the tabs that they would never pay Anthony to speak up.
