2K Sports, a leading game publisher and developer has just announced a new game for the PSP - Major League Baseball. This game would no doubt go well with all the baseball fanatics out there and has started shipping now in North America. A console version of the game was released a couple of months ago and, after its success, 2K decided to adapt it for the PSP.

The game promises to capture all the excitement of a Major League Baseball Tournament and includes features like intuitive Swing Stick control, the latest Payoff Pitching system, World Baseball Classic Mode and commentary from baseball legends like Joe Morgan and Jon Miller.

The PSP version also includes an exclusive Home Run Derby Mode which is not found even on the console version. In this mode, gamers are pitted against the best sluggers and the goal is to hit as many Homeruns as possible.

"We are thrilled to bring Major League Baseball 2K6, the most authentic and feature-rich MLB video game available, to the PSP system", stated Greg Thomas, president of Visual Concepts, a 2K Sports studio. "Baseball fans will now be able to have the ultimate MLB experience wherever they go. Not only will gamers enjoy a bevy of exciting features found in the other versions of the game, but a PSP system-exclusive Home Run Derby Career Mode as well."
