Aspiring singer infuriates judge Randy Jackson, makes him storm out

Admittedly, until the live shows of American Idol begin, the best part of the singing competition is when characters like last night's Magic Cyclops show up for auditions.

Just check out the video below if you don't believe us, don't take out word for it.

The three judges, Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, together with host Ryan Seacrest, arrived in Aspen looking for singers with a good shot at becoming the next American Idol.

Magic Cyclops was definitely not the one.

In the introductory video, Magic boasts (in a fake British accent) of being the owner of the second biggest lot of air guitars in the world – there's another guy who has 5 more, so the difference isn't that impressive.

“I have 11,000 air guitars I think there is a guy in Belgium that has five more than me,” he explains.

He also says he's like the Grinch who stole Christmas because no one wants to hang out with him. Apparently, they don't find him cool enough.

Whether audiences at home were meant to take him seriously or not remains a mystery.

The moment Magic steps on stage, he baffles the judges.

He refuses to tell Randy his age, saying “it's not polite to ask a lady's age” and, at the end of the audition, to take off his sunglasses, saying he doesn't want to show his eyes for a very simple reason.

“I don't have eyes. Or a soul,” he tells Randy. Fair enough.

During the actual audition, Magic tried to perform two songs: Neil Diamond's “Cracklin' Rosie” and Jimmy Buffett's “Margaritaville,” but managed to fail at both.

When it came to voting, Randy simply got up and excused himself to go to the bathroom, not even trying to hide the fact that he didn't consider Magic worthy of a few more seconds to give him a “no.”

The audition comes on the heels of intense speculation that producers are introducing “acts” and moments meant to boost ratings: it happened with the bikini girl and with Jane Carrey in San Diego too, angry voices in th blogosphere are claiming.
