Madonna goes after Lady Gaga in new leaked song, accuses her of being a copycat

Madonna never really liked Lady Gaga because, as she said herself in several interviews, she considered her too much of a copycat. However, never before has she taken such a direct jab at her as she does on a leaked song called “Two Steps Behind Me,” which may or may not be included on her new album.

Reports in the British media, cited by the Daily Mail, note that Her Madgesty / Queen of Pop has been working hard on material for a new album and that she seems determined to make this her most personal release yet. She’s also ditching all pretense at keeping up appearances.

On “Two Steps Behind Me,” Madonna expresses her true feelings for Gaga, for whom she apparently has zero respect because she’s nothing but a cheap imitator. Gaga does credit Madonna as one of her biggest inspirations, but it seems that the latter thinks that’s not enough to excuse her constant tendency of ripping her off.

In fact, judging by the leaked song, she thinks Gaga should be paying her royalty for the way she’s lifting content from her.

“You’re a copycat, Where is my royalty?/ You’re a pretty girl, I’ll give you that./ But stealing my recipe, it’s an ugly look,” Madonna reportedly sings. And she keeps on going.

“Did you study me hard enough?/ You’re never gonna be, you’re just a wannabe me./ Like a sister all messed-up, who’s gonna help you out?/ In your fantasy, you can try it all./ But you can’t be me./ You can walk the walk, even talk the talk./ But you’ll always be two steps behind me,” she sings.

One insider says that Gaga will be “mortified” when she hears the song, which is exactly the reaction Madonna has been eyeing with this. However, the spy adds, fans might not get to see the track included on the new album, so the only way they will hear it is if it leaks too.

Speaking of the album, it will be out in November, “much earlier than expected,” and will also include a song about Madonna’s ex-husband Guy Ritchie, who reportedly broke her heart so badly she’s still stinging after all these years.

On it, Madonna sings about how he didn’t even bother to provide her with an explanation for why he wanted a divorce, which, in turn, made her think he only got with her for fame and money, so he ditched her to the curb once he’d attained both.

If this song makes the cut for the album together with “Two Steps Behind Me,” chances are Guy will come out of it relatively unscathed, but Gaga, not so much.
