Madonna reaches out to Deadmau5, sets the record straight on recent controversy

The other day, Deadmau5 ripped into Madonna in several, very harsh online posts, for apparently supporting drug use by giving “molly” a shout-out during a recent concert. She's reached out to him now and the feud is over.

It all started when Madonna took to the stage in Miami and asked the crowd “How many people in this crowd have seen molly?”

“Molly,” as we also informed you yesterday, is the slang term for MDMA, one of the key ingredients in ecstasy, a very popular drug on the electronic dance music scene.

Deadmau5 attacked Madonna saying that, by asking this “idiotic” question, she undid years of hard work by famous DJs, himself included, to separate EDM from drug use.

What was worse, she argued, she only did it because she wanted to show she was hip and “in” with the younger crowd.

In a post on her official Twitter page, which was set up just so she can promote her latest music album, “M.D.N.A.,” the Queen of Pop has reached out to the DJ to tell him he should have contacted her first, before he made those comments.

Deadmau5 misunderstood her words, which allowed him to go on the obscenity-laden rant. Had he contacted her first, she would have explained to him how things really stood – and how she didn't mean anything by the aforementioned remark.

“Communication is always best. You should have called me first, we could have cleared it up 'privately.' ;) See you on the road,” Madonna writes.

She also set the record straight on her Facebook page, where she uploaded the photo you can also see attached to this article.

“From one mouse to another I don't support drug use and i never have. I was referring to the song called Have You Seen Molly written by my friend Cedric Gervais who I almost worked with on my album,” reads the caption on it.

Deadmau5 too has responded to Madonna's gesture of extending the proverbial olive branch, admitting he might have rushed into things without knowing what it was all about.

“Fair enough, I was just voicing my concerns as I usually do. +1 respect for clearing it up personally... regardless, just be a little more aware of what you should represent at EDM events, and I'll watch my mouth,” he says.
