14 DAY TRIAL // Rumors emerged earlier this week that pop singer Madonna and her much younger boyfriend Brahim Zaibat had either broken up or were on the verge of doing so. Fresh reports confirm that they are “done done DONE.”
Of course, we have no official confirmation of a split yet but the two have been spending a lot of time apart, mostly because of work. Madonna has been busy in New York, while Brahim, who is her backup dancer, has been in France doing the local version of Dancing With the Stars.
Reports say that “clashing work commitments,” which we assume is celebrity speak for “spending too much time apart,” drove them apart. Things went from bad to worse quickly, and the two eventually decided to call it quits.
Sources close to the former couple tell Perez Hilton that Brahim’s stint on the French show might have also played a part in the breakup, in the sense that Madonna didn’t really want him on it.
“Our digging did pay off, though, as sources tell us that Madonna is done done DONE with dancer boyfriend of the past couple years, Brahim Zaibat. The relationship ran its course and came to a screeching halt over distance and work obligations, specifically Brahim being involved with the French version of Dancing With the Stars now,” the celebrity blogger writes.
Perez Hilton isn’t the most reliable source out there but, to his credit, he did break a few stories because of his connections in the industry. This could be one of those cases.
“‘M thought that was too cheesy,’ says a source. Another adds that Madonna felt ‘used’ and that there's ‘no chance’ she and her former backup dancer will get back together,” Perez writes, hinting that Madonna thought Brahim was riding her coattails to make a name for himself.
Madonna, 55, and Brahim, 25, have been together for almost 3 years and, despite the huge age gap, insiders told the press from the onset of the romance that the singer was convinced they were soul mates because “everything between them just clicks.”
There was even some speculation that she might try marriage another time, but that never came to be.
