You don't mess with vegans and their super foods! Madonna should know better by now. The pop legend has recently come under fire from fans who are outraged she used the word “gay” as an insult. Though she might be a staunch campaigner for equal rights, the singer doesn't hesitate to discriminate on gays when she goes about insulting plant species.

Buzzfeed had Madonna take part in a word association game when she threw political correctness out the window and dissed on the super food known to the world as kale.

Among other word associations that she made during the session were calling Crocs “effective,” Instagram “time consuming” and Hillary Clinton “angry.” Of course, there were other things mentioned during her “Show and Tell,” like calling Vladimir Putin “gay” and guacamole “gross germs,” but the diss to kale seems to have sparked the most controversy.

One fan commented on the article and expressed his distaste for people using “gay” as a negative word, “Saying kale is ‘gay’ is meant to convey that she doesn’t like it, so it is an insult. I am SO TIRED of people using ‘gay’ in a negative context.”

Others went as far as to blast Madonna for being a hypocrite about her political correctness: “Madonna is as culturally sensitive as a bull in a china shop. Really. She puts her foot in her mouth constantly.”

Fans are referring to another incident that took place earlier this year, in January. At the time, Madonna dropped the N-bomb when commenting on one of the Instagram photos that featured her son Rocco. She was later forced to apologize, “I am sorry if I offended anyone with my use of the N-word on Instagram. It was not meant as a racial slur ... I am not a racist.”

That still doesn't explain why Madonna, who is usually open to new diets and foods, has such an aversion towards a plant that contains more vitamin C than an orange and is full of Calcium and vitamin A. And that's just for a cup-sized serving.

Among the supporters for kale is American First Lady Michelle Obama, who is currently promoting kale consumption in an effort to reduce teen obesity. She's appeared on several TV programs to speak about the benefits of eating kale, but apparently Madonna is not a fan.

She's also got a big mouth that gets her in trouble just about once a month and then she's forced to apologize. So the next time you hear the pop star preaching equality during her concerts, make sure you bring a couple of kale leaves to throw on state and then watch her freak out.
