When Gearbox Software started teasing us with its RPG-shooter, some felt skeptical regarding the outcome of this project, and, in truth, no one could have anticipated just how amazing the game would be. When completed, Borderlands proved to be a fascinating experience, addictive and rewarding at the same time. The game had more than enough character-progression elements to be a proper RPG and all the first-person shooting made it an instant hit with any of the FPS fans.

With over two million copies already sold, and a great response from the gaming community, developers got right back into Borderlands and started working on additional content for the title. The first was The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned, a DLC that focused more on the single-player experience of the game, being a story-driven component in its universe. The DLC features several new areas, quests and twists in the story that will keep you get hooked for a long time.

Another DLC was announced by Gearbox not long ago, and Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot is now available on the Xbox 360. For 800 Microsoft Points, Xbox 360 shooting fanatics will get the brand-new Riot Mode challenges that come with some new items for you to loot, but one of the greatest things about the DLC is the item bank. Mad Moxxi will offer players a special bank in which to store some of their fancy weapons and items, a feature that was greatly missed in the original Borderlands.

The downloadable content will become available on the PlayStation 3 on January 7, 2010 for $.99, and, just like what Gearbox did with The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned, the PC version of the DLC will become available dead last, for, as of right now, it's marked as simply having an “early 2010” release date.
